Geolocation Simulator is a browser extension designed for developers to test location-based web applications. This privacy policy explains how the extension handles your data.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal data.

This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any user data to external servers. There are no analytics, tracking, or telemetry features.

Data Processing

All data processing happens locally in your browser:

GeoJSON route data is parsed and stored locally in Chrome's extension storage (chrome.storage.local)
User settings (playback speed, override state) are stored locally in Chrome's extension storage
Simulated coordinates are injected into web pages locally and never leave your device

Permissions Used

Permission	Why it's needed
`activeTab`	To detect the current tab and inject the geolocation override when you enable the simulation
`storage`	To save your imported routes and settings locally on your device
`scripting`	To inject the script that overrides the browser's Geolocation API
`sidePanel`	To display the extension in Chrome's side panel for easier access
`Host permissions`	To allow the geolocation override to work on any website you want to test

Third-Party Services

This extension makes one type of external network request:

OpenStreetMap Tiles

The interactive map preview loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap's tile servers (tile.openstreetmap.org). This is necessary to display the route visualization.

When loading map tiles, OpenStreetMap may receive:

Your IP address
The geographic area being viewed on the map
